Café owner holds 2 electricians hostage

The cafe in Bursa where the electricians were held hostage

In the Nilufer district of Bursa, the 36 years old owner of a café, Omer Faruk Y., locked two electricians from Uludag Power Distribution Company in a room and held them hostage.

The incident happened in the FSM Boulevard, one of the most active streets of Bursa, and the workers were reportedly there to cut the power due to unpaid bills. After they were locked up, they called the 155 police help line from a cell phone, which Omer Faruk failed to think of. The police arrived in numbers.

The negotiations started after spec ops units arrived at the scene, and Omer Faruk was finally convinced to let his hostages go. He was later detained and taken to the police station.
