Director of Health asks people not to call an ambulance to order kebab

Ambulances kept busy for trivial requests

The Health Director of Nigde, Yilmaz Yucel, has said that some people call emergency medical services to even order kebab.

Yilmaz explained that even people with slight nausea call the 112 emergency ambulance line, which kept the vehicles from intervening to true medical emergencies in time. Yucel, who also added that the citizens treated the ambulance as a taxi service, said:

“We ask our people to use their own vehicles or taxis if they don’t have an emergency, because we are having trouble reaching the patients in critical conditions. People also keep the line busy by ordering kebab to be delivered, sometimes confusing us with restaurants and bakeries.”

The Director asked people to stop keeping line busy with such trivial requests as well.
