Kurdish and Armenian removed from trilingual signboard by newly appointed trustee

In Mardin’s Derik Municipality, District Governor Fatih Safiturk, who was recently appointed as a trustee, removed the trilingual (Turkish-Kurdish-Armenian) signboard and a Turkish flag was hung instead.

After the removal of the signboard, there is no signboard on the building except for a welcome sign.

In a similar incident at Agri’s Diyadin Municipality, another newly appointed trustee removed a signboard and Minister of Interior Affairs Suleyman Soylu reacted to the action taken and the removed signboard was later put it back to its place.
