The widest bridge of the world, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge was opened at a ceremony attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Beginning from the midnight, public showed great interest in the new bridge. Some people parked their cars on service road and took pictures and selfies after they pulled their cars on service road to immortalise the historic moment. Some other people waved Turkish flags and blew their horns to celebrate the opening of the bridge.
A man said he gave this moment as a gift to his son. “My son will say in the future that he visited the bridge the second day it was opened. I have also been an insured worker for 27 years, and it’s very nice to see my taxes returned to us as a bridge.” the man said. Another citizen commented as, “May God bless whoever contributed to the building of the bridge.”
