The stork, which was released from Slovakia, after a tracking device was attached to it, was shot in Mersin, Turkey after it traveled 2,600 km.

The stork was reported to be shot by a gun and it was found at an irrigation canal. When it was found, the stork’s one leg was found to be broken. Despite the treatment, the stork died.

After an investigation, it was found out that the stork was released by Slovakian and Hungarian ornithologists from Slovakia as part of a study that began in 2012, after a tracking device was attached to the animal. It was also discovered that the stork traveled 2,600 km and arrived Mersin. However, it became the target of the hunters and it was killed, before it could migrate to warm regions.
