In Izmit, a city in Marmara Region, 3 members of Kamu Emekcileri Cephesi (Public Workers’ Front) were arrested, as they wanted to protest the decision to remove mass number of teachers from their duties by a decree in law in the framework of state of emergency.

3 members of Kamu Emekcileri Cephesi, who were on their way to Ankara from Istanbul, wanted to make a public announcement on Izmit Walking Trails. The protesters were informed that it was forbidden to make a public statement. In return, the protestors replied that they didn’t recognise the state of emergency and they were arrested by the police, as they wanted to open a bill and continue the protest. S.M., H.T., and N.O, were taken to the police station.
