van turns to garbage city

Van, a city in Southern Anatolia Region of Turkey, turned to a garbage city, as Ipekyolu and Edremit Municipalities didn’t collect the garbage at the city center and alleys. New trustees were appointed to these two cities, and the workers of municipalities protested the appointment of new trustees as mayors.

As a result, big amount of garbage on pavements and the roads were piled up at Van’s busiest streets. Deputy Governor of Van, Onder Can, who was appointed to Ipekyolu Municipality as a trustee, stated that necessary actions would be taken to collect the garbage.
