Woman statues ravaged in Ordu

The ravaged woman statues

Exhibited outdoors in Altinordu district of the Black Sea province of Ordu, three woman statues, inspired by folk song “three girls side by side, next to bastion” were ravaged.

Three woman statues were placed in Altınordu district by Ordu municipality 10 years ago. The statues were ravaged over time by graffiti and writings. The municipality had the statues cleaned and replaced three years ago. The statues were kept being toyed with and one of the statues’ head was severed from its body.

The statues were sculpted four years ago in 2nd International Stone Statue Symposium by eight sculptors and placed in avenues and parks in the city. Woman statues were kept being ravaged until the municipality had them cleaned up and replaced them in Tasbasi Culture Center in Tasbasi Church.
